Happy Hen Animal Sanctuary Adds 216 More Residents! Please help!

Happy Hen Animal Sanctuary just rescued 216 hens from being gassed at an egg farm in Northern California. Volunteers helped with unloading all the hens last week. They had their first health checks on Saturday. They will be adopting out most of them. Our local animal sanctuaries will each be taking some: Lilly and Friends Animal Sanctuary, Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary, and Greener Pastures Sanctuary. We are accepting adoption applications now from the general public.

Email [email protected] for an adoption application.

Why, you ask, were they going to be gassed?

They were 18 months old and their egg production had dropped slightly, even though they could live for many more years.

The egg industry has really tight operating/profit margins so it was just business as usual…animals viewed as commodities.

For these fortunate hens, they have an incredible opportunity to experience life as we all do.

Help us help Happy Hen Animal Sanctuary, Lilly and Friends Animal Sanctuary, Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary, and Greener Pastures Sanctuary.

Please donate what you can. Pick a sanctuary and make a donation.

Thank you!
