Farmer’s Market Vegan Outreach Opportunities - Looking for Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers who can take over responsibilities for setting and running our advocacy table at the weekly Thursday, downtown SLO farmer’s market.  We need 2-4 people to volunteer to staff the table to answer questions, provide literature, and help the public learn about plant-based living and veganism! Fall Feast – A Vegan Thanksgiving

The Fall Feast was inspired by the Feed the Turkeys events held at Farm Sanctuary. The first Fall Feast on the Central Coast was held at a private residence in 2008 and the guest of honor was Parker, a turkey that was rescued from the FFA program. Every year following, the Fall Feast has grown and has inspired many people to see that we can be thankful at Thanksgiving without having to cause any harm.

The Fall Feast menu is a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings: Tofurky and Field Roast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gluten free rice stuffing, roasted vegetables, sweet potatoes, red cabbage, cranberry relish, pie and more! It ‘s a popular event and has sold out in the last few years. The 2018 annual Fall Feast was held at the Happy Hen Animal Sanctuary in San Luis Obispo. It was a lovely and inspiring day and all the support was greatly appreciated.
